Angry a keyword was yesterday qualified, today it is not ??

    hi
Yesterday I found a keyword that qualifies for all the criteria of the challenge (the filters). Today i was checking on it again.Or refreshing its data to see if it is changed and i found that its PBR drop from 16% to 13% and everything else is the same.

Should i abandon this keyword? And how this happen?

    Thanks.

What seems to have happened is that yesterday your search used one Google data centre and then the next it pulled information from another. This can make numbers fluctuate a little. It's a judgement call for something like this. Tomorrow you may test again and find it is back to 16%. Keep it as a possible but don't become too attached. My personal feeling is that unless your other numbers are really promising (as well as any future criteria in the training) then this may not be a keyword you will choose to proceed with. Make sure you have others as well.

LOL - Welcome to Google ;-)

I agree with Lisa, and would look at something a little more promising.

Even 16% is low... If it doesn't appear again tomorrow just bin the keyword/phrase and move on.

If the keyword makes sense and is related, I don't see why not to keep it.

If it is a category keyword maybe keep but if it's a main keyword then with a PBR that's way down at an already low limit it would be better to find something better. Most experienced marketers prefer a much higher PBR if available.

What is the safe PBR I should aim for in a theme keyword?

That's a good question and I wish it had an easy answer, but it doesn't. As Caro has said, she prefers a PBR over 50% and while I have, in the past, been vocal about my "concerns" with PBR arithmetic, I agree with her 100% that there is simply too much "low hanging fruit" available to bother with risky low PBR keywords.

The problem with low PBR keywords is that you're competing with their broad match high PBR sisters. Low PBR keywords like "cats Siamese" will have high broad match SEOT and probably low phrase match competition, but if you optimize for them, the only traffic you have a shot at is exact match traffic because even if someone types in -Are these cats Siamese? - the high authority broad match competition optimized for "Siamese cats" is going to slaughter you. So when considering low PBR keywords, check the SEOT for Exact Match and see if they still hold up as promising. That isn't the only test that low PBR has to pass to get my approval, but it will eliminate 90% of the really bad choices.
