Is there a limit to backlinking?

Is there a limit to how many back links I should be doing say in a given day or week. Or can we do as many as we want as long as they appear natural? I have been doing between 20-30 a day but am getting ready to have some time off and was taking one day and just doing a ton of linking.

It's nearly impossible to say what is going to cause problems. When stuff goes viral, it can get hundreds of links in a day, but that certainly isn't the normal way things go and I suspect that Google is aware of what sorts of places marketers use to create backlinks and probably factors that.

So yeah, go for it, but be aware that appearing natural isn't necessarily as easy as it sounds.
