    Autopost Setup in Posterous

    Hi All,

    Can anyone help me here?

How do I set up an autopost in Posterous for LiveJournal and Xanga? What I mean is what format do I enter in the 3 fields i.e. in the URL field, the email field and the password field? For the URL is it 'http://www.mylivejournalusername.livejournal.com', my usual email address that I included in my LiveJournal profile and my LiveJournal password? This doesn't work so must have the format wrong in some way. I also have the same problem with autopost setup for Xanga!

Although have successfully set up autoposts for Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn and my blog.

Please let me know if anyone know the right format for these fields for LiveJournal and for Xanga.

    Thanks
    Paul.

    Paul,

I don't think that Xanga will connect to posterous anymore, I googled it and it seems others have had the same problem. I can't get live journal to post there either. I just post to those manually.

I can't get posterous to work with anything but blogger, tumbler and wordpress and twitter. I now post to facebook via tumbler with rss grafitti.

Hi Don I asked this in another thread but no one answered. Does each set up pertain to each niche? In other words lets say I have 2 niches do I need a separate posterous account for each as well as blogger, squidoo etc?

Paul, I'm pretty new at this but I would suspect you would want to set up a separate posterous account for each niche. I would do a whole seperate curation network for each niche with blogger squidoo and everything else too.

I hope one of the moderators will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, it actually shows the html code. I 'am wondering if I should give visual basic a try.

I have done some forum posts where the editor was actually visual basic, I have done enough posts that I cant remember where it was though

I will look into it over the weekend and see if that helps.

I wonder if anyone elses has this problem?

I'm having this problem with Tumblr too, won't allow me to put anchor text in description as per Guru Bob's video.

Hey Dons I've been googling to find an answer about anchor text in posterous, tumblr etc with no luck. Have you found a solution? I'm at a standstill right now cause of not being able to put anchor text.

Hi, I got it to work in Tumblr ok but I've also been having the same problem with Posterous. The anchor text on my profile shows up as html code, not a clickable link. Has anyone solved this?

Ok, I think I've worked out how to add the anchor text to Posterous now. There is no need to put the html code in, just click on 'Reader', then 'Manage spaces'. From the drop down menu select 'Pages & Links' there are two boxes, one for the link address ie: www.whatever.com and the other for the actual anchor text.

I assume the other guys worked this out already, especially as the last post before mine was pretty old, but figured I'd post this to save other people a bit of time trying to figure it out.

If I've got this wrong in any way, let me know.

    Cheers, Richard
