How will Google's new valuation process affect the Challenge?

I read an article on the Penguin Analysis update that Google rolled out and am a little concern about how this will affect what we have learned and continue learning on The Challenge. How will this update affect us being that so much that we do is based on key/theme words? Will themed keyword links do more harm than good with this new update and if so what other choices should we consider upon creating a back link?

    Would appreciate any advice.

    Hi pedro4hw
That's a great question for the forum and I'm surprised someone with a bit more knowledge doesn't have an opinion.

I'm a layman but from the looks it won't affect. Make back link layers. Your web 2.0 should point to your money site and blog networks, UAW should point to your layer of web 2.0 NOT your niche site.

    Is that right, anybody?

The article linked to basically says two things... your linking anchor text should talk to people and not be nothing more than obvious SEO bait and that a good percentage of your links should come from niche relevant sites. Where people can go wrong with SEO is by spending too much time thinking about Google and not enough time thinking about people. Your site doesn't exist for Google, your site exists for people, so talk to the people and let stuff like "keyword optimization" be something automatically happening in the background of the conversation, it shouldn't be the focus of what you're doing.

It isn't natural in a conversation to blurt out "purple widgets" and then just let it hang there, so Google can easily recognize that when all your incoming links are nothing more than the words "purple widgets" that these are manufactured links for SEO purposes. But there is nothing wrong with including your keywords while you talk to people in a statement like "more about purple widgets here."
