Lost the linking plot!

I've got myself confused with what should be linking where. I ended up with an article being posted to my site three times yesterday so I've gone wrong somewhere.

Here's what I think I've done so far.

Articles to my main site go to Ping Kaching and get pinged and sent to social sites.

Different articles go to Posterous which links to my WP blog and to social sites. Do I link Posterous to my main site too? Everything on Posterous goes to PK to ping and to social sites.

My WP blog links to my main site. Everything on the WP blog goes to PK to ping and to social sites.

Ezine links to my main site and goes to PK to ping and to social sites.

Edited to say that something I've just posted on Posterous has gone onto my main site 4 times so I've clearly made a balls up somewhere!

I know that all URLs go to PK, but should I just be pinging them or should I be sending to the social sites? I'm a bit worried about sending duplicate content to the social sites.

I'm not sure what you mean by "social sites" but besides pinging, you should be bookmarking the URLs you're creating.

If these are scare words for you, then you need to look into the issue more carefully. There is a difference between content that ranks and content that provides relevant backlinks.

Thanks. I had it linked to my main site. I've changed it now.

By social sites I do mean the social bookmark ones. I got that right at least.

I'm not so much worried about duplicate content as far as Google goes, more so about the same things getting posted onto the social bookmark sites. Anything I post on Twitter is linked to facebook and vice versa and now Ping Kaching and Posterous post to them too, so I'm more worried about creating spam. Should I unlink some of the sites?

I can see a rise in traffic so I must be getting something right.

You don't want to be sending the same link to the same bookmarking accounts from different sources, so if that is happening, then you need to fix that.
