I don't think there is any reason to believe that a .co has any SEO value above that of a .net.
All things being equal I think I prefer .co vs .net in regards to longer term branding.
We're doing niche testing here to find a market worth building a brand in. Brand building requires a long term commitment that is a counterproductive sort of attachment to have in a niche test. Remember that the final result of the test can easily be "no go."
