    Posterous taken over by Twitter

    Hey guys,

Not sure how many of you have seen this but Posterous have been taken over by Twitter. Not sure what this will mean in terms of how it is used etc but a lot of people seem to think it will be bad news, Twitter may shut it down for whatever reason.

    Djr8369,

Thanks for the "head up" . I have visited and read the post. Does not look to good. They are even recomending the users back up their information if they want to. I quoted below from their site.

"We’ll give users ample notice if we make any changes to the service. For users who would like to back up their content or move to another service, we’ll share clear instructions for doing so in the coming weeks."

    End quote.

They are even saying thank to the users who have been with them for the past 4 years. I guess we will wait and see what happens.

Thanks for noting this. It will be interesting to see how things progress over time.

I'm personally a bit worried. When Twitter bought TweetDeck, they completely ruined it (I've been a long-term user of TweetDeck and can't even customize it now). They removed tons of its features and turned it into a platform where you can just publish tweets and follow other users (I can't even create Twitter lists directly on TweetDeck anymore). I'm not sure if these features will be added again in the future, but it was a real bummer.

I'm worried that maybe Twitter will do the same to Posterous (though it would be my first time using the Posterous platform, since I'm just starting The Challenge). But we'll see what happens!

Without ideas, there cannot be a plan. Without a plan, there cannot be action. Without action, there cannot be progress.
