It's fairly common for people to use different Twitter accounts etc but some of the services eg Facebook only allow one account. The suggested option is to set up a separate Facebook page for your niche contacts. You can post to them & they can reply to you independently of your personal Facebook friends.

To add to what Bill said, I usually create separate Twitter accounts for each website I run if they're on completely different topics (or one for a group of related websites), and then I'll use a desktop application (like TweetDeck) to manage all of my Twitter accounts at once (so that I don't have to keep logging into each account.. it's also less confusing this way). I've been using TweetDeck for over a year and found it a favorite over all of the other Twitter applications I've tried (HootSuite is also another popular option and allows you to manage other social media accounts, like Facebook and LinkedIn in addition to Twitter).
As for Facebook, I like to create separate pages for each website as Bill mentioned. But it's really up to you and your own personal preferences. Creating separate Twitter accounts and Facebook pages just allows you to keep discussions within your website's niche... and it also makes it easier on your visitors so that they don't have to always sift through discussions on topics that may not interest them.
