Sigh... Made it to module six, been getting some decent traffic to my blog for my first site, and I can't sign up for AdSense. Why? Because I have to be 18. I can:
-legally register a business in my home state
-be accepted for a tax license
-and get a FEIN registered
but I can't be paid for people clicking on ads on my website? Of course, I can still pay them to run an AdWords campaign.
Google is really starting to get on my nerves.

I'm not that far along, yet, so please forgive me if this is an inappropriate thought. Could you have a parent sign up for an Adsense account to display ads on your site? I don't know the technical requirements or the Adsense TOS, but could it be worth exploring?
Are you able to use affiliateproducts to test your niche, or do they have age requirements, as well?
I brought up the thought to my parents before I posted that. They weren't willing to, and I don't really blame them since they'd have to add the small amount of income it generated to their income claims. I doubt it would change anything exponentially, but I'm not filled in on where we stand as far as whether extra income would affect us or not.
I found an affiliate product with clickbank, but e-books don't seem like much of a selling point for my niche.
Either way, HostGator deleted my blog, and require a $15.00 payment to renew from the backup they had. I gave up, and switched hosts.
I'd encourage you to speak to your parents again. Or possibly your family accountant. The revenue you would receive from Adsense is likely to be small with a testing strategy. And what you are endeavouring to do is test a keyword phrase that may well become the start of a viable niche for you to build a business around. The fact that you are under 18 and are looking to explore more entrepreneurial endeavours is something I most certainly applaud you for.
Whilst very country and state etc is different with their tax laws. There are ways around things that your family accountant could advise. However getting make to my original comment, it is likely to be such a negligible amount for your parents, and you could offer to pay that amount of tax to them.
I am wondering if they need to receive more of a proposal from you. That covers the benefits of them assisting you, if they are seeming resistant to supporting you in this? Can you talk to an accountant for some advice?
