Hey, the 101 keywords issue is fixed! yay! Now MS correctly gives 800 keywords.

However this new version has additional problems in the Keyword Research module.

    - After generating the 800 keywords, and pressing "Analyze Keywords", MS only has fetched the SEOT data. PBR only shows a "-". So, when you apply the Challenge Filter, all keywords will get filtered.
This means you need to remove the challenge filter, click "Clear Results", and then click "Analyze Keywords". I suspect this process is longer than just analyzing keywords for the filtered keywords.

    - A lot of keywords seem to get an empty SEOC, after clicking Analyze Keywords

Going to contact Samurai Support about these...

latest version the filter doesn't work correctly especially with SEOC with 30,000 it only removes a few but not all. I was going to buy the full version this morning because i am nearly all out of trial , however, think I will wait now.

I'd had no problems with MS since I installed the beta version of Adobe Air.

However, after todays update, MS is all over the place - crashing, failing to generate any keywords etc
Life is like a box of chocolates...Expensive and full of brown stuff.

I am agree the latest version has issues, one minute its working the next it isn't. I must admit since updating Air it has been better not bombing out, however, occasionally hangs or parts of the UI fail to work and filters sometimes fail.

Thanks for starting this thread Dean. I will be updating my Adobe Air as per your suggestion and hopefully it helps solve my problem. Like marxillo I don't experience any problems generating keywords anymore. It is when analyzing them that has become a big headache for them.

Today I just updated my MS and my problems seem to have worsen though. I have tried using MS to look for my target niche and keywords but out of 7 attempts at keyword analysis all have either crashed the system or was so slow that after waiting for almost an hour to get any result I had to abort it. I would think an update would solve a problem and not do the exact opposite.

I realize this is the Challenge forum and not the MS support desk. So I will be reporting my sad experience to them. However, I am beginning to think that putting the responsibility of MS mostly on the frequent changes that Google has been making might be stretching it out a bit.

I am still very thankful for the generosity of MS to let us use a fully functioning software for an extended period of time. However I do know that Google has always been tweaking its search program. I first used MS about 2 years ago and looking back I found it a lot faster and did not seem, for lack of a better word, buggy at all. In fact, I would go as far as say that I was impressed by their speed and I thought it was better than its competitors. Google was making changes then as it is now, still continually refining its system in an effort to improve their services.

So it occured to me that perhaps maybe, the problem is partly due to MS expanding what it does way beyond Keyword Research and SEO Competition analysis. I can see how much, potentially, more powerful MS has become through the years. But maybe instead of offering a Swiss Army Knife solution, MS should have offered separate programs for the other stuff like Find Content, Promotion and link-building, Content Publishing, Monetization, Rank Tracking, and even Domain Search. Maybe integrating all this very useful improvements have made the core MS program more unstable than it should be.

Just my observation and would love to hear what others think also.

For those of you having trouble with only the seed keyword showing up after you try to generate new MS keywords it's due to a problem with the PBR filter setting. You can tell it's happening when you have only the seed keyword left but when you look at the header you can see all bar one of your keywords are filtered out.

To solve the issue you need need to go forward to the Keyword Analysis area. Before you try & run the keyword analysis you need to reset your PBR filter back to zero or blank (and I also untick the SEOC box for a speedier run) This will let you see all the remaining keywords only filtered by your minimum SEOT number butwith a hyphen in place of PBR numbers - Now hit Analyze Keyword and the correct PBR numbers show up - you can then reset the PBR min to 15 to filter them out correctly. I then tick my SEOC box & set the filter to 30000 and hit Analyze Keyword again - this gives me my Challenge filtered keywords!

You can leave the SEOC filter running when you reset the PBR but I found that my system was taking quite a while on the analysis - It seemed quicker when I ran the PBR reset & SEOC analysis as two separate runs but you might find different on your system. I have also seem to be getting much more consistent SEOC numbers today - still a bit glitchy with the PBR filter problem but definitely much more workable now

    Happy niche searching

    I'm obviously struggling.

Spent about and hour and a half, trying to second guess how the software works with the gliches. Re read Bill's post and with an equal number of samuri crashing and keywords being filtered out, I can't get any further than step two on this journey.

I see there is a difference in unchecking pb,r clicking on the '-' or setting to 0, but i have not managed to get past my keyword stage. Not sure if its my inexperience, software set up or a genuine problem.

However, as this is a major area of the Challenge, and is paramount for MS if they want to sell the software then I'm not giving up, but I cant keep wasting hours a night hoping that when i press "analyze keywords" it doesn't crash and comes back with correct results.

    Chin up, and tally ho!
    So this is a signature?

I've already upped the anti, I'm looking forward to making £1 at the end of 30 days.

    Hi Shutz

If you can get to see your list of unfiltered keywords then it crashes when you then try an analysis run it's more likely to be a problem that happens with version of Adobe Air that MS runs on top of - have you already tried the recommended update Adobe Air 3 - if not you can find it here http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air3.html

The other thing I found worthwhile at times was to untick SEOC & (other options bar SEOT & PBR) & run an analysis with only SEOT & PBR showing then do a separate analysis run for SEOC - Some people seemed to have a few problems with MS hanging/crashing when it took a long time to do multiple filtering on the one run. Hope things are sorted for you soon.
