I'm quite frustrated with Samurai this go around. It's unbearably slow compared to what i recall from last year.
Also, every single niche i seach/analyze seems to come back with almost no category keywords....it's utterly bogus as I know there is more meat than MS is providing.
To make matters worse, running identical searches on different PC's at different times never yields the same results.

Grumble grumble...and to make matters worse I have raging case of "niche-block"...

I think I'm going to postpone my Mod1 Day4 action steps, till this 101-keywords issue gets fixed. It might just be me, but yesterday I've spent the whole day exploring about 15+ niches, and finding even a single keyword that passed the challenge criteria was extremely rare (I couldn't find any group of 3 or 4, as I should have).

I suspect (hope) that once we get back to 800 keywords results I'm going to have an easier time finding a niche. I'm not expecting it to be easy, but right now, with limitation, I find it prohibitive.

Is anybody being able to find a niche that passes the challenge criteria with the current 101-keywords limitation?

I've been working around the 100 (and not 800) keywords issue by using the Google Keyword tool to generate keywords and then import them into Market Samauri.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this process here is how you can do this:

Goto the Google Keyword tool and log in.

Click "Advanced Options and Filters" -> For Location/Language use "all countries" and "English". You'll get up to 800 with this option. By selecting a country you will be returned with less.

Click the drop down menu labeled columns (right side) and uncheck all of the boxes so only the keywords are visible.

Click the download icone & save the keywords as a .csv file after you have searched your phrase.

Start a new project in MS & goto the Keyword Research. Click the "Import" button located below the box where the generated keywords would normally appear.

There's no need to click "Generate Keywords" since you already have them.

Go into Keyword Analysis. You'll have 800 keywords with no traffic data so this will take longer than usual.

Make sure the challenge filters are set and uncheck everything but SEOT & PBR. Click "Analyze keywords." (I uncheck SEOC temporally since they are not filtered yet & it more than likely adds time and wastes resources--unfiltered keywords.)

You'll be asked for a captcha or two if you have a lot of keywords.

Once this finishes check the SEOC box and click on Analyze Keywords again to get the competition data (this will be much faster).

Keyword Analysis will take longer but to me it's worth the extra time.

I still find that some keywords which obviously have over 800 results are being capped to a 100 or under.

    Thanks Scott!
This works. I went back and used this method on niches that I had marked as "unsuccessful" under the 101 keywords limit, and this time i was able to find viable keywords. So using those 800 keywords definitely makes a difference in being able to actually find a viable niche.

I got a response from Market Samurai support and they say they are working on the issue with priority and that it should be solved soon.

I think I'll still be waiting for the fix, as using Market Samurai is quicker, and hopefully it's going to get fixed soon.

    Let's hope!

Thanks Scott, your "trick" to get around the 101 keywords works perfect. Still no nich though, but the horizon has opened up a bit.

You are are legend ScottSharpe,... Thanks a lot for working out a way to get more then 100 keywords,... in which MS at the moment is fixing the problem,..... but your temporarily solution in finding 800 keywords,... is working good for me and for others, I can see by the comments,.... thou I still cannot find any viable niche or micro niche....... I love the internet,....... seek and you should find the answers :-)

I'm glad to hear that this is working for many of you If you haven't found a niche yet don't get discouraged; you will find multiple niches & keywords if you stick with it.

Pay attention to the keyword results before analyzing them (if you don't already do this). Look for targeted keywords & Obscure/unique niches that could be profitable. You will find markets and stuff you had no idea existed.

In Jon's video he searched for "Running" and demonstrated how to add a seed keyword to your project (from the results) by clicking the key icon next to the keyword. I use this feature a lot. In Dan's video on finding niche ideas he discussed how one word/market/niche can lead to another (and keeps on leading to others)

One niche/keyword in MS will lead to another which will lead to another...and another and then BAM: gold. It's like winning the lottery, especially when you find a good one.

Keep working at it & Good luck to everyone
