Dan Raine's new wordpress installation system

I recently received a pdf from Dan Raine outlining the worpdress plugins that they use at the labs when they set up a new wordpress install. In the email that was sent he states that,

"This list contains the plugins that we are using in our new WordPress
Installation system which will be out for Edge Members at the end of next
week and will roll out to everybody once we have ironed out any bugs. (it
    rocks)"

Does any one else have any more info on the new WordPress installation system that Dan has created, how does it compare to WPD?.

It's in Beta at the moment - he's testing it with interns first, then Immediate Edge members, before rolling it out publicly.

    Looking good

As one of the lucky few to have beta tested this, it is looking very good.

A lot of hard work has gone in to making it.
It is easy to use, navigate and setup!

    You will love it.

How does this compare to wpd?, if it does what i need i may switch over. Any idea if it will be a monthly service like WPD or something you can just purchase?.

    Thanks,

    Hi Cyberking,

It is still in BETA at the moment. It is very easy to use and install on your website. It is totally different to WPD so I could not compare them both. It has just been released to members of Immediate Edge whilst it is in BETA. It looks very good and will be something to look out for, no doubt Ed will email you all when it is released.

WPD is a way to install/maintain more than one blog with a single easy to use interface. The WP installation program is just that ... it does a complete install of WP including a number of plugins. I've used it for a couple of test installations without any problems.

Unless you are a member of the Immediate Edge, you won't have access to it ... yet?

Which do you prefer to use and why?, WPD or the WP installation program. How does WPD compare to using WP installation program in the way they work, install WP, install plugins?. Can you manage multiple WP installation as you can using WPD?. Any idea when it will be released to the general public?, is there a cost to using it?.

    Thanks,
    Cyberking.
