Flippa Anti Sniping Changes - This Affects Everyone In Mod 7
It looks like the guys over at Flippa are seeking input into some new changes that they are considering which involve reducing the auction extension time when someone bids on a site within 4 hours of it ending.
For those who know a little about me, I work with Danny Batellic (from Mod 4) on The BBS Formula, and one of the big portfolios that I have sold was that of David Jenyns (again, from the BBS Formula), and there were definitely more than a handful of websites within that portfolio that received a huge amount of attention within the last few hours, often extending out for days.
A few of these sites actually started their last day at 100$, only to end up selling for closer to a thousand dollars due to the amount of time that auctions were extended. if the auction ended early, this would have resulted in a loss of potentially 9/10ths of the final price.
Now, I just want to add quickly before I post a link (note to Challenge mods), not trying to build links here, just demonstrate proof. I have gone ahead and demonstrated what could have happened if this policy was in place at this post - Feel free to check it out, leave your thoughts either here or on my blog, and I fully intend on passing on all feedback to the guys over at Flippa, just so that they make the right decision based on what sellers want, and so on.
Cheers for your help guys.
