Google Chrome - How to import FireFox bookmarks?

    Hi all,

I just watched the Day3 pre-challenge video and followed exactly on downloading and installing Chrome and all the said extensions, but once finished, Google Chrome was automatically picked up IE's bookmarks but not FireFox's. So how do I import my FireFox's bookmarks into Chrome? Please kindly help.

    Cheers,
    tiaozhan

To import manually, first make sure firefox is closed as chrome can't import whilst it's open.

With chrome running click on the down arrow just to right of the spanner/wrench thing on the far right hand side of the page, and select "options". This opens another window, at the top select "personal stuff" and near the bottom you'll find "Browsing Data:" with a button next to it that says "Import data from anoter browser". Click that button and make sure "Mozilla Firefox" is selected at the top. You can just leave everything below that ticked, and just hit the "Import" button, and viola you're done.

You don't need to go through all those steps because you can just lick on the Chrome drop-down and select "Import or Backup Bookmarks" but again.. It's doesn't work.

You may try Xmarks bookmarks synchonizer. I just completed the process of sync-ing Firefox and Chrome and it worked quite nicely.

As an aside, Xmarks apprears to now be owned by LastPass, which is a useful password management tool. I use this extension as well.
They are both great extensions and can be used across multiple browsers.

I also recomend Xmarks and LastPass, it syncs your bookmarks across browsers.

So its pretty cool and simple. Works on most mobile devices as well.
