Tool/Software for scheduling the sending of tweets

    Hi,
Does anyone recommend of an online tool/software that can allow one to schedule the sending of tweets.

Also, is there a way to send an automatic reply(Direct Message) to someone who is now following on twitter?

    thank you.

    Hi Michele,
A quick Google search reveals that you can try out Auto-Tweeter, Now Followers, or Incredible Tweet Master...
and probably a whole lot more. These were easily found. If you download and use any it would be great if you
stop back in and let us know how well they do or don't work.

    Maggie,
Thank you for your reply and feedback.
I have to say that Googling this request was my first idea and I did, however after I received hundreds of answers, I thought that I would ask on the forum to see if anyone had used any of these tools before.

My idea of the Forum is that it is used by people from different background that have experience in using different kind of software and online tools, so I thought that before I start downloading or registering to all these tools found on Google I would try to see if anyone on the Forum had tried any of these tools. That way it would help me to narrow down the list of tools that I actually should try and test. I guess that it always help to save time when someone gives you any sort of feedback about a particular tool they already tried.

However If a senior member is quickly telling me to just go Googling....... It makes me feel as If my question was wrong to ask.....
Sorry I will try another Forum maybe.

    thank you.

I use socialoomph.com for auto dm when someone follows and hootsuite.com for scheduling.

I came across Market me Tweet from someone a week or so ago and have been trying to see if anyone on here has used it. The real benefit I see is that you can use your own website branding in the tweet, whereas using HootSuite and many others displays their link/branding. Worth going having a look and I don't think its too expensive. Let me know what you think, I'd love a 2nd opinion.

    Darren,
    Thank you for this reference.
The application looks nice BUT!!! it is a desktop application.
I mean you have to install a software on your computer.
Desktop software means that you can only use that application on a computer where it has been installed.
With online web based application you do not have that limitation.

As far as Twitter desktop applications, I would recommend tweetDeck, it is robust and easy to use.

    Darren an All,
I found what I think is a good solution/combination of tools to us and its all FREE!!!

1/ First - create a Ping.fm account and connect it to your Twitter and Facebook accuonts
2/ Second - optional (create another Ping.fm is you're like me and have 2 twitter accounts)
3/ Goto Hootsuite, sign in for their free account
4/ setup your ping.fm(s) accounts in your FREE hootsuite account.

5/ Schedule your Tweet and status updates for FREE on hootsuite and guess what the status updates sent will NOT have any references to the Hootsuite website (just a mention to ping.fm) on your facebook Wall updates, but not mention of hootsuite website on the tweets messages...

    Voila!

Advantages: Ping.fm is entirely Free and Hoosuite is FREE (for 5 networks account) - Also Ping.fm will automatically shorten any URL included in the message!
Minuses: Hootsuite scheduling interafce is not the best (only 1 scheduling of 1 message at a time and old scheduled messages cannot be seen)- Also I could not find a way to un-schedule a scheduled message....

Thank you all again for helping me finding these online tools

    Hi Michelle
I didn't realise you were not looking for a desktop app so to speak and take on board your points. I also did a bit more research on the program and found a few decent reviews. The biggest draw for me was that you can brand your tweets with your own link back to your website. So think about all the possible backlinks particularly if your followers retweet as well. However there are a few downsides with the software at the moment, which Im sure over time they will sort out. Not having an iPhone app is one downside in my view.
