Anyone in the same boat as me??

    Hey,

Just thought i'd ask how people are getting along now that we're approaching module 6.

I've been working hard, creating blog posts, contributing to forums, market leadership etc.

I checked my rankings in MS this morning and none of my keywords are ranking below position 100.

All this work and nothing to show for it, (Yet!)

I know it takes time for rankings to improve, but i wanted to find out if other people were in the same boat as me - work hard all week and still see no gains.

Yep, right there with you at about 161, but I have faith that The Challenge method will either give me the tools to change that or will let me know that my niche is not a good choice, for now because things change over time, and to abandon it for a better one.

I look at this whole course as really just "How to find a good niche" and not the "A-Z of Internet Marketing, From Idea to Income", which I understand is the purpose Ed and team has in mind.

I'm sure by the end they will tell us things to do with a workable niche, perhaps in The Challenge Plus or other means. With that said I'll be surprised if my site as it is could ever make $1, but we aren't done yet so we'll see.

The short answer is "Yes". We are not alone.

    Now for the long answer:
Without knowing you, your overall background (especially in General IM or for that matter any type of prospecting, marketing, sales, promotions, analysis, conversions, closings, etc.), my opinion is that your doing well. Remind yourself "This is a process". This is my easy term for what Jim Sewell put so well in his response to you.

My reason(s) for low rankings may be totally different than for you and other tc10'ers. Think about and do some analysis for your niche up to this point and no more than that, unless you are experienced in the teaching's of Module One through Five. If you have stayed within the boundries of tc10 then this research shouldn't be too awfully difficult. Finally, collect answers from more senior members then do that. That is my 2¢. DM me or others if you like.

    My Best,

    Mike Bowling

Unfortunately, Alhoseany, this doesn't quite stack up with many of your other posts where you advise us of other techniques that you are using. For example, in one post you you tell us about a service you used for generating 300 backlinks in one day.

My question was "Is this a site you set up as part of TC10? Using all of the training (only) ?" ...."Only", being the relevant word. If you have gone off and done your own thing, then you must expect different results. If you use a spammy service to directly link back to your site have no fear, Google has a huge database of those sites and this will not help your ranking in the medium to long term. It's all about relevant backlinks. If you want to play that game, you need a blog farm and must distance your money site from all the spammy greyhat stuff.

We are doing this exercise to TEST a market using SEO whitehat techniques, and more importantly, human techniques such as market leadership - which is fascinating. That test requires less than 30 minutes a day. Any more, such as your 1 hour a day on Twitter and you are not following the guidelines.

My own Internet Marketing activities focuses around PPC - SEO is something that I have always outsourced to others to backup my PPC campaigns once they start to bring in money. This is why I am very interested in the Challenge's SEO techniques - so that I can learn, and test what is going on and understand more of the better techniques to back up my PPC campaigns. This is why I will not stray from the techniques that the Challenge team is teaching.

i have to points in replay
1- i didnt advice anyone of anything. i am newbie. and i follow the challenge guidelines.
2- i got all the 2700 backlinks from one comment on an article on a pr4 article directory. and i do not recommended this to anyone. it is very bad and i think that is why my website is not in search results.
Ok, I have nothing to say. Do you?

Sorry but I have to agree with Arkroyan on this one. The people behind The Challenge use tried and tested methods worked on for months beforehand. To follow The Challenge, you are expected to do no more, and no less than what the videos explain. If you have submitted your site to a link farm or spammy site directory, then it is unlikely you will rank well for your keyword phrase. Remember that Google is the largest entity on the web, and if it sees your website has gained 3000 backlinks in a matter of weeks (all from spammy sources, may I add), then how is it to know that your website content isn't spammy too.

Anybody can gain hundreds of backlinks within minutes using greyhat techniques like link farms, directories or submitters, but the people who rank well on Google use whitehat techniques which both internet users and the search engines love. This is nothing short of what The Challenge is teaching you.

    Alhoseany,

It's been mentioned many times that while some backlinks might not help you, they will never hurt you either. Otherwise people will start submitting their competitors to spammy backlink sites. So I don't think you need to worry about your article comment.
