I know Ed loves both of his toys, but if you could only buy one or the other, which would you choose? I'm assuming it would be the iPhone, due to its compactness, but I hate to make assumptions, so would love all your feedback.

I own both, and I use both all the time.
What I've found is that I use different devices in different places, situations, or times.
Posting to your posterous network is very easy with either device (I use feeddler instead of reeder, along with instapaper on both devices).
I prefer to use going through my rss feeds on my iPad - more to a screen at a time, easier to knock out many.
If you had to get one thing, though, and you're not interested in a data plan, get the new ipods that they just announced this week. Less expensive, slim, runs all of the apps, and has camera and videocamera for creating content.
I struggled with that choice also, finally decided on the iPhone and am pleased as punch.
Works very well and have decided until time to replace my PC the iPhone is fine. Next on the list: MAC

lol@Caro. I'm sure there was somewhere.
I actually started with a Blackberry, went to work for a company for 4 months that gave me an iPhone, fell in love with the iPhone, then had to give it back when I left that company. So, back to the Blackberry. I truly hated the iPhone the day they gave it to me. Then I decided I would try it for 5 days straight, and I fell in love. My contract is up on my BB in January, at which time I will go with the new iPhone. $695 if I get it now or $295 if I wait until January.
