Is this Font Small?

Until recently I was making the font on here a bit bigger by enlarging it to a size 2 font but I got told off for 'shouting' (if I offended anybody, sorry). However just as a point of interest I should just like to ask "do you think that this font is a bit of a strain on your eyes?" Regards Jim T.

ps: My eyes are not as good as they used to be....but even so they are not that bad (at least I didn't thimk so)..... maybe I need a bigger computer screen?

The first thing I thought of was "Does this font make my butt look big?" LOL

I'm a 45 yr old computer geek with the modern equivalent to coke-bottle-bottom glasses (thank God for plastic) and I do find the font a bit hard on the eyes. I think it's a combination of the size and the color - it's not a true black but a less-contrasting grey which is even harder to see for us who have less than perfect vision.

Not complaining, I can make adjustments on my end but maybe a consideration for next year's The Challenge setup.

Edit: I just found a Chrome extension worth looking at. You have to fiddle with the settings to get them to your liking but you can override the page's fonts, sizes and colors. I set mine to true black on white and it's much better already. It's called Change Colors I saw some others too but this was the first one I tried and it works great. If you don't like it you can go to Chrome Extensions and look at the left navigation for Accessibility. Hope it helps!

Sorry you were told off, Jim T. I'm sure that was before Ed's lesson today about "Love All, Serve All" on forums. I agree that it is probably a combination of color and font size. Thanks for that link, Jim S. I'll put it to good use.

Wow, lol... I seriously broke the aesthetic flow of the forum, it's fugly now... but I can read it!
Gonna have to fiddle with it some more later.

I'm sorry that you choose to take a request to remove the bold from your former posts as telling off. That is your reading into it It's all about forum etiquette as Ed says today.

This is the default forum size - I am not a big fan of it myself. But Ed's OK'd it - so this is what we use. As it's his show

And tools you can use for yourself to read it in a larger font sound like a great solution!

You can always use CTRL + + (weird way of putting that) and CTRL + - to zoom in and out of a site quickly.

Size 2 is the standard forum font size. Size 1 is smaller. While size 3 would make it slightly larger. I don't see how these could be considered shouting though.

Size 7, on the other hand, could be a bit excessive

That's something I love about computing now - more accessibility options that help old eyes as well as legally blind ones. It's great to see people thinking about someone else instead of a "screw you" attitude and I think accessibility issues have matured to the point of more people caring which is awesome! Fits with today's lesson of 'love all-serve all" too eh?
