    Do I really want to be known by my niche name?

    Hi. Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere else but I am wondering about the name we use to identify ourselves in this market leadership thing.

    If for example our niche main KW is Salmon Fishing Rods, would I be looking to build up an identity and market leadership in the name "salmon fishing rods",or "salmon fishing"or perhaps even "fishing"

    Just how narrow or wide are we going with the name here? Not sure I want to be identified to the world as salmon fishing rods. Am not entirely sure I am grasping this here.
    If my KW is salmon fishing rods and I have built my squidoo, posterous and other sites using that kw, is that the one I should now be using to build my market leadership or should we be going wider to the maim niche say fishing so we can build more micro niches in that?

    Some claification would be appreciated!

    You could use a pseudonym for posting your articles and let that be your niche-leader personna. Something like Jane Fisher. You could also make an obvious "fake" name like "Bob FlyFish" or you could let your company/niche name be your identity. Would you trust running shoe advice from a disembodied "Nike"? Probably. I took the route of a pseudonym that could be a real person myself.

    Good question janer. Or how about janers fly fishing rods? I was also wondering if we should maybe name our squidoo, hubpages etc the theme keyword or if we should utilize the sub keywords and spread it out. Maybe go with the more competitive keyword right above our micro niche?

    What do you mean by "Module 3/Day 3" ? Is Michelle's advice to use your keyword phrase as a login name? Yes, that's a good advice. But I think it's a bit different from that you've asked about.

    Your question related more to Market Leadership. And ML is not about how to sign up your squidoo page, but how to setup and promote your identity in your niche.

    When I was making my first blog, I didn't want to reveal my real persona, so I've taken a pseudonym. In addition I've even "changed" my sex (it was a niche where woman would be more competitive and respected by readers). And I must say that it was totally ok to go this way. But you can have some limitations here:
    - you would not want to make any videos of yourself;
    - you can have a subtle feeling that all your business in this niche is a fake, which is not very comfortable to live and work with.

    I know most of people work this way and it is totally ok. But I made an agreement with myself: I can have as many pseudonyms as I want to in different niches, but I should have the one main niche where I am who I am.
