    California Team

In my experience working remotely with teams, 4-5 people in a team works out very well. I would like to start off a team and get a communications method up and running (MSN, AOL, etc.).

Experienced or not, let's get a team going. Everyone has different levels of experience, motivation and knowledge that is beneficial in many ways. It is, of course, better to have a team where everyone is completely motivated, but you never know until you get going. You learn better by teaching others about your discoveries, so no matter what your experience level is, the team can benefit from your input.

Sounds like a good idea! I'm new to the Challenge (I came in at the tail end of last years), so are the teams used to motivate and increase the chances of success?

I suppose you could get real motivated or unmotivated in a team, depending on the dynamics. But, the way teams generally go is that everyone is able to ask questions if they are having difficulties and/or help out someone and learn in the process of asking questions and answering them. Privately, we can of course brainstorm niche topics and perhaps increase chances of finding a profitable niche.

Lots of benefits to teams - more than can be mentioned.

I'm interested. I've gone through the 30DC the last two years with mixed results. I'm hoping this year will be the break out year.

You are welcome. Where are you from? What's your contact info? What are your ideas for a meet up location? Been talking with Mikayla and we were thinking of google groups and skype.

I'm in No Cal. You can PM me if you like. Seems like google groups could work. The group I was in used a Friendfeed group. skype seems like it could be limited in the sense that not everyone is on the same schedule, although being in the same time zone helps. Perhaps if people wanted to converse or meet live on occasion it could work. I found it useful to be able to post a question or comment to the group and be able to check in as time allowed.

Hi Jimmie, Count me in. I did the Challenge last year - started late, never finished. But that's ok - I set up a website, still have it--not making anything on it, but at least it's there. (My goal was to set up a website as a means of selling my own product: Original Flute Music (the written stuff, not CD's). So I succeeded in that sense. Now I just want to learn to make it more productive.) I am also open to whatever the challenge brings as far as new sites, etc.

One thing I needed last year and found difficult was one-on-one help and support, so a group sounds like the way to go! So what do I need to do as far as starting the communication lines? I set up a new gmail acct for this year's challenge and I signed onto twitter. I'm pretty green when it comes to using the messaging stuff...what's a PM?

Friendfeed sounds like a good idea. Looks like we have a team. We'll see how many commit and get started from there.

Same time zone works great. I've been on teams for other reasons with people throughout the world. As long as there's a meet up group online, it's easy to communicate even with a time lag. But, we won't have that problem.
