What happened to the 30 minute thing?

Ummm.... did we drop the whole "only thirty minutes a day" thing at some point? Module 4 day one is about 30 minutes of video alone, and then the action things are 30 minutes as well?

At this rate, I'll never make it through 7 modules, this is as much time as the 30 day took.

I'm sorry to say, but with that mindset, you will struggle to make anything a success, let alone the Challenge.

This is, in my view, the best Online marketing training there is on the internet. The success I started to have was nearly all due to the teachings of last years challenge, and this year is exponentially improved.

The average day can be less than 30 minutes, or more... but you shouldn't really complain, because if you want to make this thing a real success, that wouldn't bother you too much.

I hope you stick with it, because it's worth it.

    Good luck.

I'd be amazed if you'd successfully completed the 30 Day Challenge in just 1 hour a day. Well done you if you did.
As The Winner says it's an average of 30 mins a day. It's all new and takes longer the first time you do these things. Once you've done it a few times you get much faster.
As for the Module 4 Day 1 actions - all you have to do is sign up to Evernote (5 mins max) and read a couple of short things about your niche, note and tag them (10 mins).
    Anything else is gravy.
This stuff needs to become a regular thing, read a bit, make a few short notes, tag them and you're done.

It is an average and it does include the fact that we have whole weeks off from training. And,as lindiop has pointed out, the more you do the tasks the quicker you get at them.

I do understand where you're coming from, Meelash. I too was thinking "I guess when Ed says 30 minutes he doesn't really mean 30 minutes." I don't have a problem putting the work in, I realize that you get out what you put in. But I am a little annoyed at the proclamation that this can all be done in 30 minutes a day or less, because it can't - at least not for me. I am however, deeply appreciative of the challenge and everything that Ed and his team are doing for us - for free - so I decided to let the 30 minute misnomer go. Maybe once I know what I'm doing and have my sites established, 30 minutes a day will be all I need to maintain them (mostly content writing) but for now I am resigned to more like 1 hour a day, which I can just barely keep up with everything else I have to do in my life. Those off weeks are saving me!

The weeks off have been designed to give those who find it's taking them longer, a chance to 'catch up' (it's not a race though, and whatever pace you go at is great, as long as you keep taking steps forward! ).

    Meelash,

You're right. There are videos of Ed saying that this year we would only spend 30 minutes a day doing the Challenge and that includes watching the videos.

I believe Ed to be an honest man but a marketer. Sometimes he can't help himself but stretch the truth a little bit. I say that with much respect and admiration.

Yes, the new mantra is "30 minutes of activity". If you count the "off weeks" I'm sure you can claim the average of 30 minutes a day.

It also sounds life you've been through previous challenges. We've been at this for over six weeks and yet we haven't picked a way to monetize our sites nor even measured how many people are visiting. You'll have to admit that this year is much slower.

This is NOT get rich quick. Nor is it get rich EASY. Heck, it's not even GET RICH.

    This is earn $1.

Please don't watch the clock. If it takes you an hour a day, it's worth it. Just remember the next time you do it, it won't take as long.

Keep the faith. What you learn from doing the activity is worth whatever time you invest.

Actually, It says to do three "ten minuet" items, and then do something ELSE!

So how ever will you finish it all? Well if your recall each one of the actions for the day should be a daily basis. So really they weren't things to do THAT DAY, but more of a reminder of things you should be doing.

All in all one very important thing to remember: You are creating a business and this is not a game. Businesses take time and energy.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Of course I recognize all that motivational stuff about not looking at the clock, life lessons, blah, blah....
    :

I was more interested in giving feedback about the false advertising that should be corrected. Or maybe there was really a sincere intention of making everything 30 minutes, in which case the organizers would be glad to know where they fell short so they can work on correcting it next time.

This is, after all, their first time with this new format, and I've taught classes before and can appreciate how hard it can be to limit to time. But I think it's important we give feedback that that's something important (and in many cases essential) to us as students, so they make sure to give it its proper importance.

The advertising is hardly false, and it doesn't need to be corrected. Welcome to the world of Internet Marketing, which, unlike print media, radio and television is not regulated at all. Internet Marketing is a world in which superlatives are thrown around, in many cases, excessively. You need to get used to this if you want to make any money out of IM because you will have to be doing the "selling" yourself, and selling always involves talking up a product or service.
