    SEOC Matrix analysis

I think I might have found a nice niche and wanted to get some opinions:

here are the market samurai findings:

The SEOC matrix meets the challenge criteria with 3 green lines!. there are a few very autoritative sites in there as well, so it might be difficult to reach number 1 spot, but with the amount of traffic for the theme keyword, anywhere on the first page is nice.

as for the traffic levels, the main theme keyword has an SEOT of 2278 and low competition at 9680 with a PBR of 82%

there are also nice category keywords that meet the challenge criteria.

I checked commerciality also, there are quite a few adwords, some affiliate programs, some ebooks, not many ebay products or amazon products though.
the competing sites sell niche related services

to be honest, it's the best looking niche I've found and what's more it is something I'll enjoy more than the current niche I'm working on as it's more related to my life.

the only thing that bothers me is that it seems to be quite seasonal, though with that amount of traffic, I think even the quiter periods could still be profitable
    what do you think?

Looks quite interesting Paul - that SEOT figure is quite handy and means that even if you only got to position 7 on that matrix you would still have potential traffic of 150 to 180 - certainly good enough to test the niche.

I also like the fact that despite some high page backlink numbers most of the sites on your matrix are poorly on page optimized - good opportunity for you to rank. Conclusion - may take a while to get near the top of a matrix like that but well worth a test. As usual don't get too attached to he topic even if it is related to your life till the analysis numbers prove that it's worth it.

thanks Bill. That's encouraging coming from a veteran such as you!
I did the challenge last a year, and made exactly 1 dollar! Nothing more after that.

This year I want to achieve more, so I'd like to find a niche that I'm interested in.

My favorite subjects are internet, web design, etc... but they are too competitive.

It is definitely worth testing for the reason Bill has covered. Though remember to do so without attachment - which you may feel because you relate to it more.

Also you will have to manage your expectations on performance based on seasonality. If it tests well - with seasonally based niches - it is sensible to have more than one niche in your business - so that your income is not hanging out for that 'on' season
