Forum Search Function Tips?

Hi all, ironically enough I tried a search on the forum for tips about the search function lol.

I was wondering if the mods or more senior members had tips for using the search function so that, when we do a search, we get better results?

For instance the other day I did a search for organization and some other variations but couldn't find what I needed. I then made a post and people were kind enough to answer my question and also pointed out a post on "tools". I hadn't even thought about searching for tools.

Is it better to go broader with our search terms? I know if it's too short we'll get an error sometimes.

I don't actually use any of Ron's methods. I just give several keyword phrases a go. Maximum would be 5-10 minutes spent looking.

So what I do is like the example above for this question. I tried first of all: Search tips - but that didn't give me what I wanted. So then I tried Problems Using Search and it did.

I know this will sound really 'airy fairy' but I do tend to believe attitude is a huge factor behind result. Because I do not still after all these years rate myself as technically superior or clever (the reverse). BUT I have an attitude that I will find what I am looking for, and I always do, every time.

So that intangilbe seems to go a long way to the result...?!
