    Christina,

I too was skeptical about free writing at first but as a result of applying the free writing technique taught here at the challenge I am a better writer, at least I think so, but time will tell. (Has nothing to do with how I am writing now though)

I am able to write about topics in the IM niche even without fueling since I joined the challenge. I guess I should not say that I have not fueled before writing because listing to the videos and reading the content here in the challenge would be considered fueling up.

Sometimes in about 5 to 10 minutes I find my self writing at least 300- 500 words within that period. Leaving the article overnight as Ed teaches really works. No writer as Ed says in the lessons write and edits the same time.

Now, doing this challenge, I was doubtful how well I would do free writing when I couldn't look back at any of the notes I took while researching and a bit worried that I wouldn't remember a lot of them. That didn't turn out to be a problem at all, actually! The next day in the editing phase, I realized that I was able to recall about 75% of my key notes. It was really an eye-opening experience - I had no idea my brain could fuel up with so much information!

It gets to the point where simply keeping up with your niche gets you fueled up. If you're following The Challenge method of monitoring your niche in Google Reader and keeping up with the niche leaders, it's almost impossible to not get fueled up.
