Hello to everybody,
I was thinking that would be useful for newcomers (like me) to have a thread where "old" (or do you prefer experienced?) users can come to give tips and advices to noobs.
Cheers

Marco, great idea...my suggestion would be to allocate 30 min a day to the Challenge. Go in your office, computer room, shut the door, turn off your email, phone etc and just focus on Ed's tips and suggestions. If there is anything you don't understand post it in the forum. You'll be amazed at how many helpful people are here.

Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life. It’s what you do for others.
Hi marco I'm just starting over and consider myself a newbie.
What would be the first steps to get this rolling?
Marc
All of the training videos and links to any additional resources will be posted at http://www.challenge.co/training/
Enjoy The Challenge!

Tips for newbies:
1) Don't be afraid to ask for help. This is a great community who love to help. You will also be doing a service simply by asking the question. Trust me, if you are confused about something or don't understand something, there are 100 other people in the same boat and by asking your question, you get answers for yourself and for all of them.
2) Watch the videos more than once. I've been at this game a while now and I still watch every video several times. I watch the first time just to get the idea of what it is all about. I watch a second time and take notes, stopping the video to write down what I think are the important points that I need to remember. Then I take action and do what is taught in the video. Then I come back to the video afterwards and watch it again to make sure I didn't miss anything.
3) Take a break - I go for a walk or dig in my garden or wash the car, some activity other than sitting at the computer and then I come back to it with fresh ideas. When I'm working at something else, it often makes it easier for me to think about all the implications and deeper meanings to what I'm doing in marketing. Most of my best ideas about marketing come to me when I'm driving or grocery shopping or doing dishes.
4) My iPod is my friend - I have a freeware application called Format Factory (Google it) that will convert anything to an iPod compatible format. Many times I will listen to the videos as if they were audio podcasts. I've already watched them, so I'm really just listening to get the information embedded in my brain. I find that Ed often says things that are hugely important almost in passing and by concentrating on the words and listening several times, I really "get" the deeper implications of what is going on. It often turns out to be one of those situations where you think you know, but you have no idea. Again, this is something I do while vacuuming or driving or exercising. You never know when a small idea is going to explode in your head and open up the possibilities in ways you never imagined.
I hope this helps! Onward and upward!
Thanks Dean,
I just signed up for US Stream. Is it important to fill out complete profile or is this a means to stay connected?
I'm asked to describe my show?
Marc
Hi Marc,
Some of the profile question will only apply if you are putting on your own show
For now they can be skipped.
The signup for today is so you can watch/participate with any Challenge broadcasts.
