For instance, there's an "about me" section that I didn't put up and it has this in it: About Me
"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat. " -- not very interesting, eh?
Without going into the html, how do I change that? Also, there is a calendar I don't want and some stuff about RSS feeds that I don't understand. I can't find anyway to change/delete these things. Also, when I tried to post a second article, it put it down at the bottom of the page where no eyes would ever go under "recent posts" I'd like to be able to make the article title's categories on the right panel and then have the articles on different pages, accessible when a visitor clicks on the article title. Any help, please?
Thank you.
Okay Mexi for this you'll need to go directly into your Wordpress admin.
Go to www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Login with the username "admin" and the password you chose for your blog when you set up WPD.
Once inside the WP admin, you'll see a menu over to the left - click on "Pages".
A list of the different pages on your site (pages are not article posts) will pop up on the right. One of them should be named "About Me".
Hover your mouse over the link that says "About Me" and you'll see smaller links pop up underneath of it - click on "Edit".
It'll take you to a post form where you can change all of that lorem ipsum stuff. When you're done, just hit the "Update" button on the upper right part of the page.
As for your second post - we haven't been told to publish a second article yet, so just let that sit for now.
For the calendar and stuff over in the sidebar, again in your wordpress admin in the left hand menu you'll want to click on "Appearance" and then "Widgets".
Different themes have different numbers of sidebars; I don't know how many yours has.
Anyway, on the right side of the page you'll see a Sidebar button for every sidebar that your theme has. Click on a Sidebar button and a space will open up underneath of it.
Now you can drag whatever widgets you like into that space, and arrange them in whatever order you like. Play with it in one window while refreshing your site in another window to see what it looks like. (Each time you change something in the sidebar you'll need to click on Save and then Close for it to update.)
Just keep playing with the widgets until you get it the way you like, and keep in mind that some things (like Categories) will look empty until you get some more posts published.
