    Searches vs. SEOT

    Hey all,

I'm somewhat confused on an issue. Under searches, it tells me that this is the average number of people who search for this keyword DAILY. Then under SEOT it says "maximum potential daily clicks" that this keyword could potentially achieve. How is it that some of my search numbers are actually higher than the SEOT's?

I assume that the SEOT data is 40% of the number of searches, since it's accepted that about 40% of people who search for a keyword will click on the first result.

This article may explain a bit more about searches versus traffic potential Twokindred http://predictive-marketing.com/inde...-by-serp-rank/

Market Samurai's SEOT is based on the maximum number of potential clicks at the number one position on the matrix - It's based on 42% of the actual searches made - the article shows how *traffic* numbers are worked out based on matrix position. Actual traffic obtained may be lower of course if you have a low PBR for a keyword.

I wasn't considering "clicks". It took a minute!
